BILJKE

… Crassula ovata, Jade Tree, rescued from an abusive office environment in the mid-90’s. Pitiful and pathetic, being systematically drowned while deprived of light, brought home by the husband. Instantly admitted to Beverly’s Plant Hospital, did not even pause at the front desk to fill out the paperwork. 🌟 Spends summer on the patio for morning sun exposure. Comes under the eave for shelter if too much rainfall is forecast. Now graces this harmonious, color coordinated niche. 🌟 Synonym: Crassula argentea 🌟 Currently seeking rebel status by refusing to pose against a white wall, bucking the Instagram trend. ✨🌟💫⭐️✨

I was gifted a Jade plant a few weeks ago and i finally repotted the plant only to discover i had been given a full plant and two cuttings. I’ve not had one in my collection, so this will be a learning experience on keeping mine thriving. ⠀ Jade plants look like miniature trees, live a very long time and can grow up to three feet or more when grown indoors. They adapt well to the warm, dry conditions. Keep the plant watered during the growing season (spring and summer) and drier in the fall and winter months. Remember to let the Jade dry out during waterings.

Crassula argentea Gollum (Gollum Jade Plant, Spoon Jade, Shrek Plant, Horseshoe Jade, Trumpet Jade, Hobbit's Pipe Jade) Crassulas are succulent sub-shrubs with small pink or white flowers. Native to South Africa and Mozambique, they are commonly grown as houseplants in cooler regions. Crassula ovata ‘Gollum’ is an unusual plant with tubular, trumpet shaped leaves. It looks like a small tree, and the branching trunk becomes thick with age. It can reach up to 80cm tall and is a good specimen for bonsai. It may produce clusters of small, star-like, white or pinkish-white, with pink stamens in winter. Grow in pots indoors in bright, airy conditions, in cactus compost. Water sparingly and feed fortnightly with a balanced liquid fertiliser. Reduce watering in autumn. It will grow 80cm in height and 40cm in width. They like full sun and well drained soil. #georgetownsucculentstation #georgetown #gardening #newcastle #succulentaddiction #succies #succulover #succulove #succulentsaustralia #succulents #succulentsofinstagram #succulentlove #succiepotinapot #succulentgarden #succulovers #succulovers #succulovers #succuholic #succulentaddict #succulentlover #gollumjade #jadeplants #crassula #crassulaargentea
